About

Hello, my name is Mark Hamblin and I work as a nature and landscape photographer based in Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands.

Like all nature photographers, I am captivated and constantly inspired by the natural world. It never fails to stimulate the senses and even from my kitchen window I can make new observations and see the potential for new images. I am fortunate to work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country but I also travel, both around Scotland and elsewhere. Yet I feel that many of my most rewarding pictures are made locally where I am more in tune with the rhythms of the natural world. Perhaps I should quit traveling!

Whilst I still continue to supply photolibraries with images, more of my time is now spent working with colleagues on longer-term projects that promote conservation and environmental issues. I am currently working on the 2020VISION project alongside many of the UK’s top nature photographers and over the course of the next 12 months we’ll be undertaking assignments throughout the country that will culminate in a series of major outdoor exhibitions from summer 2012 onwards.

Hello Vineet – thanks for your request. I don’t normally work with any assistants, instead preferring to work on my own most of the time. As you live in India this would make it difficult anyway as I am based in the UK. I hope however, that you will continue to follow my work and I would welcome any comments that you may have and I wish you good luck with your own photography. Best wishes, Mark
